Travel Vacation Prep & Packing Tips (Trip to Germany)

Travel Vlog: Trip to Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany Part 1

Hoi zΓ€me and welcome back to FiliSwissed! In the first episode of my travel vlog series, you will see how we planned and prepared for our trip to Germany. I will be providing our travel vacation prep and packing tips when traveling with a dog and during a pandemic. This is our first trip together with Snickers and also given the COVID19 situation, we didn’t know how it would go down therefore preparation was imperative prior to the trip. We traveled by train (Deutsche Bahn) and it took us about 2 hours max to get to Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany from Zurich, Switzerland.

If you have been following me on Instagram and TikTok, you would have already had a glimpse of our trip to Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Though you may have seen my last keto post, Keto Diet Weight Loss Journey (Bonus Keto Food Recipe), we were not on keto during this trip. We noticed that our body has adjusted to the keto well, especially our portion sizes and to our surprise the portion sizes in the places were quite big, about twice the size . If we couldn’t finish the food then and there, we would have it packed and have it for breakfast the following morning.

In Switzerland, Snickers does not need to wear a muzzle but when I spoke to the customer service of Deutsche Bahn, I was informed that Snickers must wear a muzzle. Therefore, we bought Snickers two muzzle (one is for when/if we lose the other) and started training him to get used to it for the amount of time that we were going to be in the train. It was not easy since he really did not like it and kept trying to take it off. During our train ride, we resorted to having him on our lap to keep him from being able to use his paws to take it off. He was able to watch out the window as a distraction instead which we were happy that he got settled with it eventually.
